Ingegerd Björklund is an international renowned Soprano, who performs world-wide. The Swedish born Singer holds 7 Academic degrees from her studies in Sweden, London, Rome, Vienna, France and The Netherlands. For 15 years she sang together with the world famous tenor Nicolai Gedda and for many years Björklund belonged to the same roster of artists as Placido Domingo and Birgit Nilsson.
     
Ingegerd Björklund sings in 24 languages, which even includes Mandarin and Japanese. She has made four extensive tours in China, where her performances have reached over a billion people on TV. As the very first Swedish artist Björklund appeared in Seoul and New Delhi, some years ago. Even those performances were broadcasted on TV and radio over the whole nations.

The excellent Soprano has made more than 35 tours in the USA. In 1998 Ingegerd Björklund proofed her extraordinary abilities, as she became the very first artist ever to sing and accompany herself on the grand piano at a recital in the Carnegie Hall, New York. Earlier Björklund had shown that she also is a marvellous concert organist in a combined soprano-organ recital in the Westminster Abbey, London, a performance which also included her extraordinary organ improvisations. In connection with the celebrations in Thessaloniki, Greece, as Stockholm became the host of the European Year of Culture, Björklund was the only Swedish artist to perform.

Ingegerd Björklund has co-operated with many orchestras and conductors all over the world. For instance she has sung Chinese opera with Chinese orchestras, collaborated with members of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, as well as participated as the Soprano soloist in the annual Messiah Festival with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, USA.

As a painting artist Ingegerd Björklund has been compared to the world-wide renown Swedish painter Bengt Lindström.
